DCDB Panel
Combines and protects DC strings from solar panels before they reach the inverter.
A DCDB (Direct Current Distribution Board) panel manages and protects the DC power from solar panels, acting as a central junction to combine strings, route power to the inverter, and house safety devices like fuses, DC circuit breakers (MCBs/MCCBs), and Surge Protection Devices (SPDs) to prevent overcurrents, short circuits, and voltage spikes, ensuring system safety and efficiency. Combines DC output from multiple solar panel strings and routes the aggregated power to the inverter; integrates components to safeguard panels and inverters from electrical hazards; provides isolators/breakers for safe manual disconnection during maintenance. Construction: typically weatherproof (IP65 rated) polycarbonate enclosure; configured based on the number of solar strings (inputs) and inverter requirements (outputs); fire-retardant, UV-protected cables. The DCDB manages the "nerve center" of a solar system, preventing expensive damage to inverters and panels.
