A flameproof panel is a robust, sealed electrical enclosure built for hazardous industrial areas (like oil & gas, chemical plants) that contains any internal explosion, preventing flames and hot gases from igniting flammable atmospheres outside — primarily through strong construction and specialized flame paths that cool escaping gases. These panels house controls, switches, and breakers, protecting operators and equipment by isolating sparks and preventing fire spread in environments with explosive gases, vapours, or dust. How it works: if an internal spark ignites a flammable gas mixture inside, the explosion pressure builds; the panel's robust casing contains this blast, and the escaping gases are forced through tight, precisely engineered flame paths, cooling them significantly before they reach the outside — preventing ignition of the external atmosphere. Essential in Zone 1 & 2 (gases/vapours) and dusty environments (mining, pharma); typically heavy-duty steel or aluminium construction.
